Oregon - e-cigarette distributor Smoking Everywhere will halt sales in Oregon..

August 9, 2010 - Oregon Attorney General John Kroger says he has reached an agreement with Smoking Everywhere Inc., a Florida-based manufacturer of electronic cigarettes to halt sales in Oregon.

Kroger said Smoking Everywhere did not seek U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval and provides no evidence to support claims that so-called “e-cigarettes” are a safe alternative to traditional tobacco products. But Kroger noted a recent FDA analysis found e-cigarettes contain known carcinogens and toxic chemicals such as an ingredient used in antifreeze.

The agreement announced Monday includes an admission by the company that it violated Oregon’s Unlawful Trade Practices Act.

Background: On Thursday, July 30, 2009 Oregon prohibited the sale of electronic cigarettes until they are approved by FDA, or until a court rules the FDA does not have the authority to regulate electronic cigarettes. (Oregon - electronic (e) cigarettes sales prohibited until approved by FDA..)

Oregon Attorney General John Kroger today, August 18, 2009 filed a lawsuit against Smoking Everywhere, alleging that the Florida-based "electronic cigarette" company made false health claims about its nicotine delivery device and targeted children with sweet flavors such as bubblegum, chocolate and cookies ‘n' cream. Being someone who manufactures E-Liquid, I can say for a fact that there is no antifreeze in it. In fact, the liquid is ALL NATURAL!!! Everyone wants to hate in new things, but when it comes down to it, these ARE a lot healthier. Yes they still contain poisonous nicotine, but its a better than getting cancer with real cigs...
