Pakistan - pictorial health warnings on cigarette packs and cartons soon..


August 3, 2009 - Pakistan’s Ministry of Health is expected to issue within a month an order requiring tobacco manufacturers to include pictorial health warnings on cigarette packs and cartons, according to the Pak Banker.

Tobacco companies will have six months to implement the requirement after the issue of the Statutory Regulatory Order.

In May 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) called for all countries to adopt picture-based warnings on all tobacco packages. WHO - CASE FOR PICTORIAL HEALTH WARNINGS..
