Australia is to be congratulated on soon forming the National Preventative Health Agency that will carry out the recommendation of the expert Preventative Health Taskforce. "Australia: the healthiest country by 2020" - government's plan to reduce preventable illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease and some cancers.(Australian National Preventive Health Agency Bill 2009)

We noticed with interest that GlaxoSmithKline’s Nicabate brand is launching a quit smoking campaign during Australia Day featuring some of the nation’s favorite animals. Nicabate - is a line of therapeutic nicotine products in Australia. e.g. NicabateCQ patches are known as NicoDerm in the United States and NiQuitin in Europe. We were upset that Glaxo is using Aussie animals smoking cigarettes as part of their campaign.
