Ireland - Office of Tobacco Control to be dissolved..



December 17, 2010 - The Irish parliament, the Dáil (House of Representatives), has passed a bill that will see the dissolution of the Office of Tobacco Control (OTC). (About the National Parliament (Oireachtas)..)

The functions of the OTC will be transferred to the Health Service Executive on 1 January 2011.

The bill received cross-party support and during the debate this morning, Deputies took the opportunity to warn about the dangers of smoking.
